  4. Of course, the ftp server stays open and you may 
  5. upload things in the incoming directory. But they 
  6. won't be put in the right directory until I'm back.
  7. If your transfer is interrupted, please try again 
  8. using a different name. I'll sort it out when I'm 
  9. back.

  11. BTW, the server has an alternative name which is 
  12. ftp.gcr.jussieu.fr
  13. This is to ensure that if one day, the server moves 
  14. to another machine, we just have to remap the name 
  15. on the DNS and external users won't have to worry 
  16. about it.

  18. About the slowness of my server, it depends from 
  19. where you call. The problem is that we are part of 
  20. Renater, the research network in France, which is 
  21. slow as hell when called from the outside. And 
  22. what's worse, it's slow as hell when I try to reach 
  23. locations outside... But if you call from inside 
  24. Renater in France, the server is FFFfffast. Well :(
